How the SASSA Payment Schedule Works
SASSA pays grants on a staggered schedule across the first three working days of each month. This approach reduces overcrowding at pay points, ATMs, and retail outlets, and allows the banking system to process the enormous volume of transactions smoothly. The standard order is:
- Day 1 – Older Persons Grant (Old Age Pension) and War Veterans Grant
- Day 2 – Disability Grant and Care Dependency Grant
- Day 3 – Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, and Grant-in-Aid
The SRD R370 grant is NOT paid at the start of the month like other grants. SRD payments are processed at the end of each month in individual batches – each approved applicant receives a personal payment date. Check your specific date at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.

How to Find Your SRD Payment Date
- Go to srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
- Enter your 13-digit South African ID number and registered phone number
- Click Submit – your approved months and personal payment dates will appear
- Allow 2 to 3 working days after your assigned date for funds to reflect in your bank account

- All major SASSA grants are paid in the first 3 working days of each month – Older Persons first, then Disability, then Children’s grants
- The full 2026/27 payment schedule is officially confirmed by SASSA – approved by National Treasury on 20 March 2026
- Grant amounts increased from April 2026 – Older Persons, Disability, and Care Dependency up R80 to R2 400; Child Support up R20 to R580
- SRD R370 remains unchanged at R370 and is paid at end-of-month on a personal date – check yours at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
- April dates differ from usual – Disability on 7 April and Children’s on 8 April due to Easter holidays
