How grant batches usually operate
Grants for social aid occur in batches throughout a period of around three days in every month. Grants to Older Persons come first, followed by those to Disability, while others are left with the Children's and other remaining grants.
Weekends, public holidays and shifts
The SASSA calendar is designed to try and minimise such clashes wherever possible. In case there is any change that is not indicated in this calendar, take into consideration the official announcement only. Plan your debit order allowing some buffer days after payday.
SRD (R370) vs other grants
SRD is temporary and paid in batches, typically after Older Persons or Disability. Even with approval, payment does not necessarily come on the first day of the batch period. Check out our SRD grant guide and SRD rejected / appeals guide.

Payments to Old Persons usually come first in the month, followed by Disability payments, then Children's and other payments.- SRD (R370) is disbursed in installments and may fall on different days based on the banking confirmation process and the monthly window period.
- This means that if weekends and public holidays fall on payday, then the payment is made on the nearest working day.
- If your application has been approved, it doesn't always mean that the money will be paid out right at the beginning of the window period.
Grant amounts and eligibility overviews can be found in grant types and SRD R370.
